Maker's Story
Pashmina has been a place for creation. The most explicit form of craft, Pashmina belongs to the world of nature. Originating in the mountains of Changthang, from the Capra Hircus Goats, Pashmina brought a new outlook of fashion and beauty in the world through the hard work of skilled artisans. Artisans like Firoz Khan, who has given the craft his love for 17 years have been gifted the skill of Pashmina from his father who had been the best of artisans in his time. “Magic worked in the fingers of the father when he used to swirl the thread in the needle. By god’s will, I have made justice to his teachings.” Firoz said while showing a Pashmina shawl. Artisans like Firoz Khan have families to feed and Pashmina has been a source. Due to machine looms and machine works, artisans have lost their professions and Pashmina its elegance.
