Why we Love it

Treat yourself to a luxurious experience, as you handpick the opulent Pashmina from amongst a thousand more counterparts that it outweighs evidently. Handcrafted over wooden traditional handloom in warps and wefts, by skilled master craftsmen, the shawl sings unsung songs of classic poetry of the time when Pashmina enjoyed a royal reverence. Hand embroidered floral motifs span over the borders in Sozni Kari, as the shawl gets prepped to drape you in majesty with its grand utterance of luxurious classic fashion

The Exquisite Craftsmanship

It sometimes so happens that a Pashmina shawl is covered in large motifs with wide spaces to be filled with embroidery, for example, a flower petal, a leaf, a full paisley and more. In such embroidery patterns, filling a larger space would be cumbersome and time consuming if done with a delicate, fine thread. And here is when an artisan brings Papier Mache embroidery into play.

What is Papier Mache: As the name suggests, the embroidery derives its nomenclature from the ancient art of Papier Mache (where waste paper is transformed to breathtakingly beautiful hand painted articles) because of the similarity of their looks. And as the reflection of one beautiful craft mirrors over the other, the embroidery looks absolutely magnificent over a Pashmina shawl.

While embroidering a Pashmina shawl in Papier Mache embroidery, there a few steps to be followed:

Choosing a block for design: A finely carved walnut wood block acts as a stamp, to lay the base for the design over the shawl. Blocks are different for borders and centre of a shawl. It takes a lot of time to choose from amongst a hundred such blocks which have been carved by masterly walnut wood carvers.

Stamping the shawl: An expert craftsman carefully places the chosen block dipped in ink over the shawl on the desired place.

Embroidering the shawl: This imprinted shawl is sent to embroidery experts who choose multi coloured satin threads for a brighter effect. When a motif is completed, it is outlined with another thread so as to make it appear more prominent.

Guaranteed Quality

We appreciate that you expect the finest quality of Pashmina from us. So we follow a stringent quality-testing approach on every single piece that we produce. Our Pashminas go through an inflexible testing procedure at the Craft Development Institute (CDI) of Srinagar, the only fully-focused Pashmina lab in India. After testing our Pashminas come with lab reports, fibre tests, name of product and artisan and product life and durability.

We guarantee the purity and authenticity of our products. We are 100% sure about our products being handwoven from pure Cashmere yarn. If you are not satisfied with the product, or if it is proven that any of our claims are false, you can easily return it to us with a full refund.
